Hormone Balancing Matcha Latte

As much as I love a good cup of coffee.. I will always choose matcha over coffee any day if I have the option.

Since working from home, I’ve been re-associating myself with making delicious superfood lattes at home like I used to when I lived in Canada. I had a Vitamix and a pantry full of superfoods back then and my favourite pastime would be to see how many things could I blend to make a delicious, frothy superfood elixir.

I don’t have all the same tools now, but I have invested in certain superfoods that are particularly good for my hormones and skin, and only partially invested in a small one-cup blender that does just enough of the job for what I need. At this point, if it blends, I’m happy.

Superfood Matcha Latte Recipe:

1 - 1 1/2 teaspoon matcha

  • This is up to you how much you want but I love a strong flavoured matcha so I opt for the latter

1 - 2 teaspoons collagen powder

  • This is an excellent source of protein and bone and joint support. It also makes the latte extra frothy when blended. Yum.

1/4 teaspoon ashwhaghanda powder

  • My go to superfood when I’m feeling stressed or anxious. This adaptogenic herb calms the nervous system and relieves inflammation in the body. It also helps to balance out jitteriness or acidity from too much caffeine.

1/4 teaspoon maca powder

  • A hormone balancing dream! This keeps your reproductive organs in check and helps you feeling happy and balanced. It was a sweet nutty flavour which I really like too.

1 teaspoon Osteo-FX powder

  • This is sooo optional I just use it because I have it. It’s a calcium, magnesium and vitamin d3 supplement that helps support bone and joints. Collagen alone is good too but I like the vanilla flavour this adds.

Maple Syrup to taste

  • Listen, I’m Canadian and need my maple syrup fix sometimes. This is how I get it. It also doesn’t spike your blood sugar which is a bonus.

Splash of coconut milk or milk of choice

  • This is optional and totally personal. I love coconut milk because it’s creamier but I also don’t like too much milk. A bonus of making this yourself is you can monitor how much milk you add!

I hope you enjoy and let me know if you try the recipe!
